NAUST Music

By Lisbet Frøystadvåg

I have had my daily work at Norsk Musikforlag, a leading publishing house in Norway for 25 years, where I have been working as an editor, publisher and manager. Over the last decade I have been working as a market manager world wide at the company’s orchestra department. In adidition, I have occasionally taken on work at my own company NAUST.

Terminating my work at Norsk Musikkforlag in autumn 2025, I am now focusing on projects and productions at NAUST. These are mainly combining text and music - often with a strongly visual and human touch.

Of highlights I can mention my production DAGNY - an opera cabaret by Henning Sommero, involving some of the highest musical profiles we do have in Norway like; Tora Augestad, Håvard Gimse, Marianne Thorsen anf Øyvind Gimse. It has successfully been performed at different classical music festivals and theatres in Norway; The Women’s Museum in Kongsvinger, Hardanger Musikkfest, Oslo Operafestival, and this year at Ålesund Chamber Music Festival and Molde Theatre (Teatret Vårt i Molde). More performances are in pipeline, and we are now looking abroad.

My booklet text for albums are thoroughly worked out, and Sommerro’s album BORDERS containg my short stories with historical and mythological inspiration, was nominated for a Grammy award. In my opinion an inspiring text can often strengthen the interest of reviewers, and give the listeners an extra way into the music. 2L173.pdf

Right now I am writing a libretto for a chamber opera about the mathematician Sonja Kovalevsky (1850-1891), and her dramatic life, for 2026/ 27.

From my desk I can also refere to projects consisting of applications to cultural organistations and various forms of systematization and text for PR use.

With my love for art, I go deeply and heartfelt into my work.
